SaneBox reminders return an email to your inbox at a time you choose. You do not need a separate app. Instead, you add a special SaneBox address to the To or BCC field when you send, forward or reply to an email. When the time comes, the message reappears in your inbox so you can act on it.
SaneBox describes this as a personal follow-up assistant. It covers two main jobs: nudging you if someone does not respond to an email you sent, and resurfacing an email later when you will actually have time to deal with it.
How Reminder Addresses Work
Reminder addresses use plain-language times at the SaneBox domain. SaneBox's documentation lists examples such as tomorrow, 2days, 1week, a day of the week like Tuesday, or a day and time like Tuesday at 2pm. Most logical combinations work.
For repeating reminders, SaneBox supports words like every and each, such as every Monday or every other week. Monthly and yearly addresses start one month or one year from now.
You can view and edit your reminders in the Reminders section of the SaneBox dashboard. SaneBox also warns not to rename the reminders folder, because reminders are tied to it.
Reminder Types
Remind Me If No One Replies
BCC a reminder address when you send an email, for example a 1-week address. If the recipient replies in time, the reminder is canceled. If nobody replies, the email returns to your inbox. This is the feature people use for follow-ups on proposals, invoices and requests.
Always Remind Me
Adding a keep option to the address brings the email back at the scheduled time whether or not someone replies. Use it when you want a nudge regardless, such as a deadline.
Remind Me About an Email I Received
Forward the email to a reminder address with a set time. It will come back to your inbox then.
Snooze
Snooze postpones a reminder or an email until later. Each reminder email includes a snooze link, and SaneBox says those links expire after five days. If you click an expired link you are redirected to log in. SaneBox's help pages also describe snooze folders such as tomorrow and next week, plus custom timeframes, as part of SaneSnooze. Which of these you can use depends on your plan, so check SaneBox pricing.
A Simple Follow-Up Routine
- Send the email as normal.
- BCC a reminder address that matches how long you are willing to wait.
- If you get a reply, do nothing. The reminder cancels itself.
- If the email returns, send a short follow-up. The follow-up email guide has wording that works.
- Snooze or reset the reminder if you need more time.
What SaneBox Reminders Do Not Do
- They do not write the follow-up for you. SaneBox lists AI reply drafts among its optional tools, but reminders only bring the email back.
- They depend on plan access, so check which features your plan includes.
Who Benefits Most
Reminders help people who send many emails that need replies, such as freelancers, sales professionals, managers and anyone chasing invoices or approvals. They are less useful if you rarely wait on others. For other productivity tactics, see email productivity tips.
Are SaneBox Reminders Worth It?
For people who currently track follow-ups manually, reminders are one of the more practical SaneBox extras because they work from your normal email app. Read the full SaneBox review and feature guide to see how they fit with SaneLater and the digest.
